Who called me?0102364966

Who called me twice yesterday? It was 0102364966, bad timing to call also it was time when I am about to prepare for my son's schooling. What would you do when you pick up a call that told you, you just need give her a minute to talk? But you already mentioned that you don't have the interest to listen. First she mentioned that she called from disabled/old folk home, but where does she get my number? How she knows my name and then when I told her I have no interest to listen anymore, she started to question are you already attached with any old folks home etc. Maybe she mean of donations etc.All sudden she has interest to know more.... but why not just get to the point? Anyway I have blocked the phone number, she used the number to call me twice that day! She speaks in mandarin language. I am sure it's part of the telemarketing. She could be having a long list of names to call others after me. I told my friend, and she too told me she received the called few days ago.I googled the telephone number and it someone posted this as scam called.

Another friend told me this what he does, he received such called, he directly told the person to remove his phone number from the list and told the caller that this is a private number. He even asked where the caller got his number, but there's no reply about this.

We know that it's RMCO and everyone got to work for living, already got so many people losing jobs and also having salary cut. Not earning and got to save at the moment, you never know when you need to spend it. My dear having his salary cut too and I got to save money for the rainy days, got to check on how much spend and nee to spend too.

Education is important and I continue to support my children for their tuition, etc. No water at the moment, it's 2nd day of not having water supply at my area. Already used up 3 buckets of water in the restroom, bad timing of having no water as son just started SMK back to school also my menstrual period comes.

By the way, do you prefer to receive a call that the person would just get to the point or goes a big round talking and only get to the point?

Depression is real never neglect that

Its school orientation day today from  8am to 10.30am but son and my spend the longer time there as he saw the wrong class name and went in the wrong class. What's most funny he told me is 1 Jantina class name, I was like hhmmm... that's first time I heard there's such name as Jantina in Bahasa Malay language is Gender which is either Male or Female. Not just that he went into the class is named 1 Adil , his actual class that need to be there was 1 Bakti. He given the RM35 to the class teacher Ayuni in 1 Adil, he supposed to pass the money to teacher in 1 Backti, so teacher says never mind as on next Wednesday she try to ask the class teacher for the money. We went to the office and redirect to down stair teachers office but sadly teacher Ayuni not inside. Also son bought the wrong size pants, RM26 he suppose to buy XXL size. He says he worry that it would be too big for him and he was confident that he can fit in the XL. Looks like we need to spend again on purchase new pant at school.

Son says that he glimpse too fast on the name list and saw the wrong class name. 1st time was 1 Jantina, 2nd time is 1 Adil. He saw his other 4 classmates in the class of 1 Adil. The teacher no longer there when I reached the class as in the hall we need to listen to the talk til end. Koperasi only open 10.30am onwards.

Well story cut short, sad to say I read on Facebook on the online news that a woman in her 30s had jump to her death in the shopping mall. It's sad to know these, she probably had die on spot due to head injuries. The news is online on many newspaper online, also video on the body was being covered as someone recorded 15 seconds of it. Blood stained at the escalator... depression is real can never neglect yourself and loved ones, what ever it is talk about it, open up and speak to family/friends or even consult a doctor about it. You never know that many doc would advice you on going for a counseling.

Indeed a long day for me, just a note to self that never go back the famous chicken rice shop near LRT, it doesn't taste good at all. Son had wantan mee, I had roasted chicken rice.

By the way, I have update social media today, can visit sherrygo at Instagram.

Lifting the Burden of GERD

Lifting the Burden of GERD
“Life is to be enjoyed, not just endured.” –Gordon B. Hinckley
What makes life worth living? Ask any Malaysian and they would probably have “enjoying food” on their list. Food plays a major role in our lives. It is a daily conversation topic, a compass to plan social events, a display of love, a cause for competition, and a source of adventure. No one really thinks about the inability to enjoy food, given that eating is something that we do almost automatically from birth.

However, the inability to enjoy food is a reality for those suffering a specific tummy affliction which has been sweeping the nation. This was what happened to Raymond. With a thriving career, Raymond was at his peak. Unfortunately, his tummy got in the way.

Raymond experienced heartburn years back but the symptoms would go away with a gulp of antacids. In the last year, however, Raymond would have great discomfort especially after eating. He would feel the food coming back up and a sour taste in his mouth. Not just that, there was gas and bloating too. Each day was a struggle as he would feel tired, not being able to sleep well at night because of the reflux. Tests at the hospital finally showed that Raymond was experiencing a chronic form of heartburn called gastroesophageal reflux disease or GERD for short.

Understanding GERD
When we eat something, the food travels down a tube called the esophagus into the stomach. At the bottom of the esophagus, before the opening to the stomach, lies a circular tube of muscle known as the lower esophageal sphincter (LES). When the LES becomes damaged or weakened, it fails to close all the way, causing the acidic contents of the stomach to move back up (reflux) into the esophagus. Stomach acid has a pH close to battery acid. When this acid contacts the esophagus and sometimes rises up into the mouth, damage and pain ensues.

Acid reflux causes a burning pain in the chest commonly known as heartburn. When acid reflux symptoms happen more than twice a week or is accompanied by difficulty in breathing or swallowing, it could denote a more serious condition known as gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). The prevalence of GERD has been found to be rising across Southeast Asia, numbers of which are up to 20% from data recorded after 2005. i

Many people with acid reflux or GERD believe that their condition is caused by stress or from eating spicy or acidic food. While stress is not a cause, it is one of the factors that can aggravate GERD. Scientists have found that people are more sensitive to stomach acid when they are stressed. Besides stress, obesity is also another driving factor of GERD development. As weight accumulates in the belly area, it creates pressure on the diaphragm and LES to cause further weakening of the LES muscles. With Malaysia ranked as the fattest nation in Asia, it is not surprising that more and more people are suffering GERD. Smoking is another risk factor for GERD as the nicotine in cigarettes cause a relaxing effect on the LES, hence allowing stomach acid to escape into the esophagus.

GERD Development
In an event titled “Oh My GERD” hosted by NuvaPineA®, a panel of experts came together to discuss the severity of the GERD epidemic, to help the public to recognise the signs and symptoms of GERD and more importantly to manage the condition successfully. The panel comprised Dr. Raja Affendi Raja Ali, Consultant Physician and Gastroenterologist from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia; Dr. Vagif Soultanov, a Gastroenterologist and Naturopathic Doctor from Melbourne, and Datin Swanee Teh, Pharmacist and Natural Therapies Advocate.

“GERD is a condition that worsens over time if left untreated,” stated Dr. Affendi. “Because it’s a disease driven both by structural and lifestyle factors, patients need to take proactive steps to manage it well. Think of it this way, if you had a wound and did nothing about it, that wound will fester to cause greater harm. Similarly, GERD needs to be addressed.”

GERD has a significant negative impact on patients’ quality of life. Imagine being constantly stressed about what you should eat or not besides having to limit social dining engagements all in a bid not to trigger GERD symptoms. A 2003 study showed that GERD patients have a poorer quality of life in terms of mental health, social functioning and vitality when compared to the general population.ii A separate study showed that having GERD decreased work productivity, even more than someone having a chronic condition like arthritis.iii In effect, GERD affects the very core of those things human beings take greatest pleasure in – food enjoyment, restful sleep, and meaningful work.

“Most people don’t expect the dramatic changes GERD makes in their lifestyles. GERD literally sucks all the fun out of life. According to clinical data, GERD can lead to anxiety and depression and vice versa. GERD also affects productivity and sleep which drains a person’s sense of purpose,” explained Dr. Soultanov on the topic of how miserable it is living with the disease.

What does GERD look like?
Heartburn is one of the hallmark symptoms of acid reflux. The other symptoms of GERD include a sour-tasting fluid at the back of the throat (stomach acid has a sourish taste), difficulty swallowing or a sensation that something is stuck in the chest or throat, gas build-up, and excessive belching. Some patients may even experience a chronic dry cough or breathlessness, which is triggered by the acid reflux. Should the acid rise up further into the mouth, bad breath can develop as the acid kills off good bacteria in the mouth. Tooth decay is another consequence of acid damaging teeth and gums.

Is there a solution?

Conventionally, heartburn and GERD are treated with medications that control acid. Routinely, the use of acid-blocking drugs called proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) is initiated. Examples of PPI drugs include deslansoprazole, pantoprazole, omeprazole, and esomeprazole. PPIs are potent stomach acid suppressants. They are popular choices to help patients deal with symptoms as they work fast.

However, the symptoms of GERD are sometimes impossible to control, even with the most powerful PPI drugs. Some studies have already demonstrated that up to 40% of patients with heartburn reported either a partial or complete lack of response to PPIs. Not just that, acid blockers are not
meant to be used for the long-term because of adverse effects, the result of compromised digestion and immune protection when acid production is suppressed over time.

Current guidelines recommend that PPIs be used for only 4 - 6 weeks after which they should be withdrawn or stepped down to less-potent therapy.iv In reality however, patients continue their PPIs indefinitely as symptoms tends to recur.

Clinical Pine Therapy
GERD is not a simple condition to manage. As a naturopathic doctor as well as a researcher, Dr. Soultanov was at hand to share the results from a recent clinical study done on a pine conifer green needle extract called Bioeffective® A and its effects on gastrointestinal health and GERD.

“We know that Bioeffective® A possess cellular healing properties. In this study, we wanted to see the extent of its effects amongst patients with pre-cancerous stomach conditions who were also experiencing GERD. The administration of Bioeffective® A resulted in a 92% improvement in dyspeptic symptoms (GERD), including improvement in symptoms such as gastritis, gas and bowel disorders. Not only that, patients also regained normality of stomach function besides a reversal in pre-cancerous lesions,” shared Dr. Soultanov.

“Instead of sitting around worrying more and more about GERD, Bioeffective® A as a natural medicine, can offer patients added arsenal to deal better with their condition. By helping to strengthen damaged or weakened esophageal valves, as well as to support the normalisation of digestive juices in the stomach, Bioeffective® A will help get you, your normal tummy back,” said Datin Swanee Teh.

The session was also attended by former Prime Minister Tun Dato’ Sri Haji Abdullah bin Haji Badawi who shared a few words on how Bioeffective® A has helped improve his health. “At this golden age, all I can hope for is to be as healthy as possible. I have been taking Bioeffective® A for almost 10 years now for my defences and anti-aging needs. It is a very safe natural medicine and my doctors will affirm that my tummy, liver and kidneys are all in excellent condition. I’m glad to have found such a safe and reliable friend in health,” he said.

Goodbye GERD
When one understands the crushing grip GERD has on the many things we enjoy in life, it’s difficult not to be disheartened. However, the combined knowledge from both mainstream and naturopathic medicine can now offer patients a more holistic way of managing their condition successfully.

Raymond discovered Bioeffective® A online after surfing the net one night when he couldn’t sleep. Raymond went on a dose of 320mg three times a day as advised by his pharmacist. Over the weeks, his GERD symptoms gradually improved. He noted how he was able to tolerate his foods so much better without those familiar gas and reflux symptoms. Raymond has arrived at a point where he can actually plan a “makan get-together” without a care in the world.

Bioeffective® A is made in Australia and is available at leading pharmacies throughout Malaysia. For more information please call Nuvanta’s Nuvaceuticals® division at 03-56363758 or email pharmacist@nuvanta.com.

RM6 parking @Plaza 33

Yesterday morning my first time to Plaza 33, though I know the area is near where but  I am unsure so I need to use waze to go there. The parking cost RM6 for parking about two hours, park at level 4. I find that there is valet parking at each floor, at least 4 car parking slots are taking by them. No sure of the valet fee as I prefer not to park Valet since I got the time.

In the afternoon 4pm I took Grabcar to Talent Lounge suppose to try the RM7 free Grab but I find the locations not same. So I have to pay RM19 for the one way trip there, but have a good chat with lady Grabcar, she is a fulltime driver of Grabcar. She told me of her experienced in taking guests in the night and morning 6am to reach home. She was charging RM35 for one way, it is late night from 9pm to middle night driving. Just 2 months she decided to let go the guests and ask them to find other driver as they didn't keep their promise. She was given several locations to drop instead of one location.

Someone even ask her if she can be a transporters for kids or not. But if she is only picking up just one child, it is not worth at all. She was asking me the fee of transportation here how much. I mean roughly figure. Good chat with her though we have some jam going to my destination. Reach there by 5pm :D.

6 Feb 2017 TNB 10am to 5pm

Today received a letter at the gate, stated that there will be no electricity from 10am to 5pm on coming Monday. It's going to be a hot day then also Monday son has got tuition in the evening.

Chinese tuition for 6 years old son I am having doubt to start him with it or not as it's very expensive. It's a once a week lesson and it cost RM490 a semester. Yeah means to pay the fee for that. His brother already going at the same tuition center.

I am thinking let him go next year as now expenses lot, the kindergarten for son for just morning class already cost RM450 a month.

Other subject that Sean is going at tuition is Science RM90, once a week.
RM250 for BM 1 and BM 2 , also math which is also once a week lesson.

Being a mom there's lot roles to play and part of it is thinking of expenses in the family. I am not working just housewife, send my children to study and also to fetch them. Then also send for tuition, because transportation is not cheap for one way and for each children.

Weekend schedule fulled

It's October and my son is very happy as he has finished the final exam in school. However other school are on going their final exam. This Sunday is his school's sports day, he is Standard 4 and for the first time he got selected by for taking part, he is not alone as he is taking part with his team.

It's not going to be easy, he told me that green team have many participants than yellow team. He's in yellow team and just very few of them. Not sure how to name the sports but it is pulling rope competition. Last week they have the sports in school and teacher have selected their teams and other teams to take part in the competition.

We have got plan to visit grandmother too, been few months since we last seen her. Her birthday was in June same month as my son.

How about you? What's your plan for this weekend?
